Morris Architects was selected as architect for the new Barbara Bush Branch at Cypress Creek.
Construction of the building is funded by the Harris County 1997 Library Bond Funds. Furnishings will cost $360,000; technology, $216,800; and the Opening Day Collection will run $600,000. The Barbara Bush Library Friends are focusing their efforts on a campaign to enhance the Opening Day Collection that would include books and materials for the new library.
The Barbara Bush Library Friends is a 501(c(3) non-profit organization, and all gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Receipts for donations will be provided to all donors. If your gift qualifies for matching funds, please enclose the necessary forms.

The new Barbara Bush Branch at Cypress Creek is...
32,000 square feet, over three times the size of the existing branch library.
Have easier access for handicapped patrons.
Have a main conference room (which can be divided into two smaller conference rooms) which will seat 100, plus a conference room on the second floor for more meeting space for multipurpose needs.
Have approximately 116,200 materials, which includes an expanded book collection in well lighted stacks.
Have a separate children's area for books, study tables, and PCs to search the library catalog.
Have a larger periodical section with comfortable, quiet places to read.
Have over 50 PCs with Internet access.
Have a convenient circulation desk that promotes the flow of traffic.
Be a library the community will use with pride.
